Which campuses accept NMIMS-LAT scores?
Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Indore and Ahmedabad/Dhule (depending on the admission cycle).
What courses are offered through NMIMS-LAT?
BA LLB (Hons.) and BBA LLB (Hons.).
What is the eligibility criteria?
Candidates must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with the minimum percentage prescribed by NMIMS for the relevant admission cycle.
What is the NMIMS-LAT exam pattern?
150 questions in 120 minutes — Verbal Reasoning (30), Current Affairs & GK (30), Legal Reasoning (30), Logical Reasoning (30) and Quantitative Reasoning (30). 1 mark per question. No negative marking.
What subjects should I prepare?
English / Verbal Ability, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Techniques and Current Affairs & General Knowledge.
Is NMIMS-LAT easier than CLAT?
Most students find NMIMS-LAT slightly easier than CLAT — especially in legal and logical reasoning. The GK section, however, can be unpredictable and includes static GK.
Is there negative marking?
No. Incorrect answers do not attract negative marks, so attempting all questions is generally advisable.
Can I attempt the exam more than once?
Yes. NMIMS usually allows multiple attempts (main attempt plus retakes as per the admission notification), and the best score is typically considered.
How are admissions granted?
Based on the NMIMS-LAT score, merit ranking, seat availability and document verification / counselling.
What is a good score in NMIMS-LAT?
Indicative ranges: 100+ excellent, 90–100 competitive for top campuses, 80–90 good chances at several campuses. These are not official cut-offs.
Is NMIMS a good alternative to CLAT?
Yes. NMIMS Schools of Law are among the leading private law schools in India and a strong option for students who miss top NLUs through CLAT.
